Exercise 10
The facebook page doesn't really have any of the answers to the questions. Its a bit of a jumbled mess. The Twitter isn't much better. The website has more information with all the answers to the question. Children and Youth section. Local Studies section.
Because they would rather you go to the website which has more indepth detail rather then something they could put on facebook or twitter. They probably want to direct more traffic to there website as well.

Exercise 9
My local council or Library would be Sutherland.
I would say that the library is very much family orientated since the Sutherland Shire seems to be a place for young families. However there is a section dedicated to Seniors as well. We are a very family community based area and I think that the website really shows that.

Exercise 8
I thought that the filter bubbles video was a really insightful video. I had no idea that internet serches could be edited. I had no idea that there was different results that showed up on different peoples computers when you searched the same thing. I found the whole thing really interesting that sometimes the search results can depend on what you search at home previously or what links you are clicking on or where you even live. It was a really interesting video.

I think that libraries should use this service because it is useful. I really like to read reviews on pages. Especially amazon when I am looking for a good book to read. I tend to read the reviews to see what people are writing about it so I know whether to buy it or borrow it. Yes the Sutherland library does have a review section on each page of the book you are looking up. You are free to leave a book review if you so wish to do so.

Exercise 5
Why do I think it is a good reason for libraries to be on Facebook? Its a great way to get out promotion and feedback. It gives you the opportunity to see upcoming events and some library facebook pages even have the ability to write reviews on the side of the page. You can comment and interact with people as well through the comment section and even talk to a librarian if you need an question answered.
This doesn't just have to include facebook it can include Twitter and Tumblr as well where the same things can occur because most social media can be used as a promotional tool to aid peoples awareness about Libraries.

Exercise 3
This Photo below is one that is of The Reading Room in the British Museum.

The Library apparently contains every single book ever printed. Apparently it even holds the first ever copy of The Hungry Caterpillar. The décor in the library also is really cute and pretty making it feel warm and welcoming. Then you have the British Museum which has all its exhibits which also includes King Arthurs sword Excalibur that is in the Whispering Gallery. Which sounds pretty awesome.

Exercise 2
I decided to pick the blog Librarian in Black. The blog entry in which I picked was Happy 10 year Anniversary for Librarian in Black. Why did I pick this you asked? First of all the write Sarah comes across on the blog post with quiet a personality and had me engaged and laughing at one point or another. That is one key thing about a blog the personality in which it comes across so that you can replate to it. If it isn't relatable or a good read then no one is going to read it are they? Nope. I like the fact that she went through the past ten years and showed how many things had changed since she first started posting. It was quiet interesting to see that back then Facebook and Twitter didn't even exist and that Myspace was only starting out to be popular also ITunes had just been launched. Then there was all these other headings that included how Arnold Schwarzenegger had just been sworn in to California as Governor. That the Columbian shuttle had broken up killing 7 astronauts and so on. Its weird to think that now Myspace isn't used anymore and that we do in fact have other social media like Facebook and Twitter that has completely taken over. Arnold Schwareneggar isn't governor anymore and NASA doesn't send out astronauts anymore. So we have come a long way and its scary to think just by reading a blog page how much has really changed.
Its also funny to see what some of her first posts were as well because who doesn't like going back to what there first post on a blog is and cringing at how they could possibly write about it. I just really liked her blog post and I can see myself going back to her blog in terms of librarian things because she really did catch my attention with some of her other posts. But this one in particular I really liked.
