Exercise 11.

The Library of New York facebook talks about local studies for children. There are occasional talks about different books regarding Adult and Children Fiction.

The tumblr just posts articles about different things that have nothing to do with any of the above. The twitter posts links to other websites including the facebook and tumblr.

Exercise 10

The facebook page doesn't really have any of the answers to the questions. Its a bit of a jumbled mess. The Twitter isn't much better. The website has more information with all the answers to the question. Children and Youth section. Local Studies section.

Because they would rather you go to the website which has more indepth detail rather then something they could put on facebook or twitter. They probably want to direct more traffic to there website as well.

Question 1.

Social Media or as its called Library 2.0 is often used as tools to engage clients into reading about what the library has to offer using social media.  The way in which they can be used clearly varies depending on the application in which you use. Some sites can be used to review or leave comments in regards to books. Others you can watch videos or post pictures. Then there are others that let us communicate directly with the public through status posts, comments or replies. Then you have blogs in which you can create to use all of these things in one.

Applications that can be used by Libraries are

  • Facebook
  • Tumblr
  • Youtube
